Today morning I was telling my friend not to worry about a subject. I was saying that dont feel that the problem is big which makes it even bigger ;) This lead to a very good thought. A thought provoking thought.
A Sailor sails in his ship & covers the breadth of the seas. Seldom cares how deep they are. His goal is to travel across. A Diver, on the other hand, travels vertically touching down the sublime limits of the sea. He jumps in the sea & tries to touch down. His exploration is in depths.
On the same lines, one can attain knowledge in breadth, more like a technologist who tries to know as many things as possible with out which the very essence of calling him a technologist would be in vain or in depth like a researcher who selects a particular domain & tries to gain immense knowledge in that science.
A technologist is more like a sailor whilst a researcher, a diver.
I m feeling a bit happy that after a long long time, I have thought something which makes some sense. ;)
